Q | What are the most popular items on your menu? Why?
A | The most popular items on the menu are the filled croissants, pecan rolls, cinnamon rolls, and iced sugar cookies (can’t keep them in!). The chocolate raspberry torte is the most popular cake – chocolate cake, raspberry marmalade and raspberry buttercream! I’ve been told the only filled croissants in the city are chocolate and we offer a strawberry, raspberry, almond and an amande as well!
Q | Are there any items NOT on your menu that are staff favorites (that you’d be willing to serve up to any customer who asked)?
A | This doesn’t sound very French, but my pastry chef makes awesome pepperoni rolls. I tried one and oh my gosh! (I’m not even that crazy about pepperoni!) When we make them, can’t keep them in. So we’re in the mindset of, if we have an idea let’s try it.
Q | You serve lunch! I’m sure there are some people around town who don’t know that! What lunch items are popular?
A | We’ve always served lunch and I’m continually surprised of the number of people who still don’t know! We have two items that are the most requested: the chicken salad on a croissant and the mushroom brie soup are favorites by far!
Q | You take custom orders – does anything stand out to you as a very unique or memorable order?
A | Yes! Every Christmas, we have a customer who was raised in Columbus and now lives just outside of D.C. They have us overnight 4 pecan rolls on Christmas Eve so they have them Christmas morning. It’s a long standing tradition for their family and it doesn’t matter where they are; the tradition goes on.
Q | Christmas is almost here! Do you add any special holiday items to your menu this time of the year?
A | We are going to be offering Yule Logs by special order and specialty packages for corporate and/or individual gifts. We’ll also have seasonal cookie trays, assorted trays, etc.
See you for lunch in January?! :)
