Q | What are the most popular items on your menu? Why?
A | Our menu offers a great variety of sharable plates; nourishing and with responsible sourced ingredients that delivers not only quality but a lasting delicious taste. Our Burger is by far the best in the city; the Manchengo cheese with a caramel and nutty flavor combined with pickled zucchini, tangy aioli and delicious bacon gives this the perfect amount of umami with every bite. Top dishes are:
- Toast: mustard braised beef, blue jacket chevre, tomato jam, sourdough
- Hamachi crudo: masago, yuzu vinaigrette, snow peas, radish
- Mushroom flatbread: mushroom, gruyere, truffle, potato
- Rib cap: wild mushroom, buttered leeks, sherry jus, Point Reyes bleu cheese
- Soul Burger: Nueske’s bacon, manchego cheese, mesclun greens, pickled zucchini, brioche, Meyer lemon and garlic aioli.
Q | Are there any items that are NOT on your menu that are staff favorites (that you’d be willing to serve up to any customer who asked)?
A | If it is in the kitchen, we can make anything our guests want! We don’t have a particular menu item that we can replicate immediately but will definitely try our best as ingredients change with the season.
Q | The descriptions of various dishes look delectable. What inspired such an exciting menu?
A | Thinking of most palates, we wanted to play more with sharable plates – instead of focusing on one type of cuisine, we were inspired by various styles and cultures from past travels. We always source our ingredients from reputable vendors with impeccable practices.
Q | How was the name “Soul” chosen?
A | We knew we wanted to hang the liquor sign, but realized if we turned it upside down and flipped a couple letters, SOUL could stand out.
Roger was sad I didn’t try any drinks, despite the shoot being at 2pm! I’ll definitely be back one evening to check out lots more!
