In honor of Mother’s Day, I thought I’d share a favorite out of all my mom’s amazing recipes. (Recipe below.) I’ve been enjoying “S” cookies my whole life, but my first memory of them is for some reason tied to a trip to Niagara Falls. Maybe we ate them on the way there, maybe it was coincidentally around the same time, or maybe it didn’t happen around that time at all. In any case, I thought that sharing this recipe with you on Mother’s Day would be a special way to honor my mom and her out-of-this-world cooking abilities. Perhaps you can make and enjoy them with your mom. :)
Mom, I would be NOTHING without you! I love you!
So many mothers have had a lasting impact on my life that it’s hard to mention only a few. The following three women are some of the best people I know, and I would not be who I am without them.
4 C flour
1 C sugar
1 C oil (a little less)
4 t baking powder
1/4 C milk
Mix all ingredients. Form dough into “S” shapes and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 350° for 8 minutes.
Mom, are these cookies called “‘S’ Cookies” because your name is Sandi?!
