Q | What are the most popular items on your menu? Why?
A | Our most popular items are our avocado biscuit sandwich and our maple bourbon pecan pie. The sandwich is savory, buttery, has a runny egg yolk, and creamy avocado, and although it’s rich, it’s not particularly heavy, so it’s perfect for a morning meal. The pie is pretty decadent, but is not overly sweet and the flavors are complex and warm. It’s the ultimate comfort food, but with a modern twist, so I think people are excited about ordering a classic but still experiencing something new.
Q | Are there any items that are NOT on your menu that are staff favorites (that you’d be willing to serve up to any customer who asked)?
A | Cheddar cheese melted on their honey apple pie. It’s so old school! Not on the menu but I LOVE when people go rogue and ask for it!
Q | What’s in season right now that’s inspiring your menu?
A | It’s not so much the season at the moment but the season to come that is already inspiring me! Heirloom tomatoes, ground cherries, rhubarb, berries galore, garlic scapes…any and everything that the summer yields, I can’t wait to put in a pie!
Q | Your cafe menu includes something called “maple milk” in the beverage section. As a milk lover, I’m dying to know what this is!
A | Maple milk is Snowville Creamery milk infused with organic maple syrup. When I was in college in western Massachusetts there was this little cafe on a waterfall in the woods called the The Lady Killigrew at the Montague Bookmill that had maple milk and I thought it was the most delicious thing on the planet! I always knew if I had a cafe I would definitely be serving it!
