Q | What are the most popular item on your menu? Why?
A | The best thing on our menu is the Gumbo. It’s delicious and I actually eat it every day! It’s kind of like an art form when I cook it – it’s the only dish I still get nervous when cooking. It’s got to be perfect!
Q | Are there any items not on the menu that are staff favorites (that you’d be willing to serve up to any customer who asked)?
A | The great thing about our menu is that you can combine anything you want. For example, we have a lot of people ask for what we call “Gumbolaya.” We also keep it fresh with 3 specials each day.
Q | What inspired you to open up this kind of restaurant?
A | For eight years, Joe Vuskovich taught me how to cook food. It inspired me to open up my own place and we just celebrated our 6th anniversary here. We get compared to Cajun restaurants around Columbus, but this is the only one that doesn’t have sit-down prices. Everything is made from scratch and I’m the only cook, which means quality control is important to us.
In case parking in the Short North isn’t your thing, there’s a second location in Gahanna!
